Always bring backup.

  • Oversized girlfriend fit. So comfy.
  • Armpit gussets. Range free.
  • Reinforced elbows. Stay sharp.
  • 7 pockets. Bring it.
  • Zip pocket. Don't lose your shit.

That jacket you always had to go to the men's section for? We made it for you. Rugged, but not bulky, the Oahe Work Jac is the perfect midweight layering piece. Oahe is the Lakota word for "foundation"—a name suggested to us by the women of the Lakota-owned DX Ranch in South Dakota. The Oahe Work Jac rounds out our DX Ranch collection: foundational pieces that bring performance to the range, but feel at home in the city. Laid back but stocked up, the all-purpose Oahe crosses all terrain. Earthy canvas goes with everything. 7 pockets go for miles. Oversized girlfriend fit sits easy, but subtle tailoring steers clear of frumpy. Layer up, ride on.

Dovenote

We're nuts about the natural corozo buttons on the Oahe. Made from sustainably grown corozo nut, these beauties are not only plastic free but strong, scratch resistant, and naturally gorgeous.

TRUE BLUE PARTNERS

Fist bumps for our friends at Foison Textiles in China, who made the Oahe Work Jac. Foison is powered entirely by solar, with a robust recycled wastewater program.

FABRIC

Lean into the loveliest stretch canvas. This canvas is so dreamy you'll be hugging it back. We garment-dyed this jac in the richest ochre we could find. That means we dunked the whole thing in a dirt-loving hue that dries to a worn-in patina of perfection. But we wouldn't be Dovetail if we didn't back up good looks with serious performance. Heavy-duty canvas threads meet our secret stretch sauce, for hardcore heft that still moves easy.

  • Heavy duty stretch canvas
  • Fabric weight: 10.5 oz
  • Fabric content: 98% cotton/ 2% spandex
  • Medium stretch
CARE

You got it dirty, now get it clean. We get it's tempting to wash that dirty jac in hot water and tumble dry the hell out of it. But like any high-quality tool, this one will last longer with TLC. Heat messes with our special stretch sauces and secret weatherizing potions. And it can shrink, warp, and otherwise damage the fine fabrics that make Dovetail Workwear sturdy, comfortable, and tough on the job. So for a long life, wash cold, and hang dry or tumble low. The planet will thank you too.

  • Wash cold.
  • Hang dry.
  • If you must tumble, tumble low to damp dry.

Always wearing this jacket

"I love my Oahe Work Jacket and wear it pretty much everyday. It is a perfect layering piece for the changing weather I often work in. And the fit is great. I get a lot of compliments from my colleagues about it."

"OMGS! These are by far the best pants I have ever purchased. From the fabric to the design they are simply delicious to wear. I want a pair in every colour. I also have a pair of Maven's which I also love. I look forward to purchasing more from Dovetail."

Stef D. (5/5)

"I love it. I bought it as a barn jacket. It quite roomy, but I need a large for my shoulders and arm length."

Edie (5/5)

Oahe Work Jac

"I love the Jacket, unfortulately I am an extra small and it is quite big on me even though I purchased the extra small. Would suggest sizing down for a better fit."

Marie S. (4/5)

Sleeve circumference

"I wish the sleeves had been sewn with more bicep and arm room. I could go up a size but then the body and length would be too big."

Karen C. (4/5)

Excellent jacket .

"Hard to use it as a work jacket that will get so dirty since it is so stylish.Fabric, style, pockets and fit are all great. I am usually a medium which is what I got and this is oversized but that is good for layering as it is a jacket"

Barbara B. (5/5)

Sleeves are a bit short for a 5'9"

"It looks great. Excellent quality as always but I bought a large one and still feel the sleeves are a bit short."

Jetté J. (4/5)

Great ranch jacket

"Love it for barn chores, for riding as well"

Julie M. (5/5)

Love the jacket. The pockets

"Love the jacket. The pockets are great and the finish on the jacket is great. The fit is also very good. I would like to see a little less stretchiness in all of your clothing. It tends to become a bit baggy with wear. But the design and fit are awesome!"
